Mango Salsa ready to enjoy!

The Mango Salsa Collection mixed media -photography and digital art- by Debra Cortese

I lived in Miami, Florida from 2002 to 2012 and as with everywhere I’ve lived, I always have a garden. It’s an integral part of who I am. Edible plants, herbs and veggies are fabulous to have right outside your door, or in pots on the patio. Making Mango Salsa is the first image of the fresh ingredients for a very edible and mouthwatering salsa recipe that I was creating on that hot Miami day in 2008. This is a newer version of that image, created in 2016 from my studio along the Delaware River in Narrowsburg, NY. It’s hot again here in the Catskill Mountains during July and I’m missing mangoes picked fresh from my neighbors tree. Guessing this year’s annual Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden Mango Festival was postponed due to the horrid Covid-19 situation. So, while I’ll have to visit my favorite market for mangoes before I can recreate this Mango Salsa Recipe, I am enjoying the process of recreating a few of my Edible Garden Art images which includes a few more mango salsa prints as well as other garden favorites.
